Heaven Has Some New Angels

Today is a very sad day in our United States History.........A school shooting in Connecticut killed 20 children and 6 adults as of right now. I am so sickened and saddened by this news my heart bursts with sorrow and grief for the families who lost a loved one. These were someone's babies!!!!! These children were precious to someone and kissed and hugged everyday and night before bed and before school today. These children had their whole life ahead of them! I just can't stop thinking about the parents and siblings of these children! My hearts and prayers go out to all of you! I will continue to pray for peace and strength to get through this. Strength for the parents who have to explain to a brother or sister while there sibling will not come home. I don't know what God's plan is but no matter what happens we all have to believe that God is in control and he will make it all well in the end.  Heaven has 26 new angels today...

Lord,
Please touch these families left behind. Give these families strength to get through the next few days and peace to except the loss of their loved one. Father God, fill the void in these people's life and give them so much love and hugs from the Holy Spirit. Please touch the children that survived and seen the horrific scenes. Lord you are the only one who can calm the storm and I pray you begin calming the storm for the whole town. Lord I trust in you and I praise you for I know that you have already started to comfort the families.

In Jesus Name,

Amen

Here Are A Few Bible Verses

Matthew 5:4 “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted… “ (Jesus’ words)

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

Deuteronomy 31:8 It is the LORD who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”

Psalm 9:9 The LORD is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek you.

Psalm 23:4  Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me;  your rod and your staff,  they comfort me.

Psalm 55:22  Cast your burden on the LORD, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.

Matthew 11:28-29 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

God's Word

Psalm 1

1 Oh, the joys of those who do not
follow the advice of the wicked,
    or stand around with sinners,
    or join in with mockers.
2 But they delight in the law of the Lord,
meditating on it day and night.
3 They are like trees planted along the riverbank,
    bearing fruit each season.
Their leaves never wither,
and they prosper in all they do.
4 But not the wicked!
They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind.
5 They will be condemned at the time of judgment.
Sinners will have no place among the godly.
6 For the Lord watches over the path of the godly,
but the path of the wicked leads to destruction.

I just wanted to start off this post with the chapter i read today. I read a bible devotion today about the seeds being planted in our lives come from the word. I know that I do not read my bible as much as I would like and lately it has been laid upon my heart to read and seek the truth in God's word more and more. I really like verse 2. I will write it here again

But they delight in the law of the Lord,
meditating on it day and night.

This is a very true! In all things that we do everyday we should be thinking of God's word. God's word is the instruction for our life. It amazes me how people, myself included, are searching for answers and sometimes the answer is right there in front of them, but they do not take the time to study and meditate and pray to find it. New Years is right around the corner and though reading my bible more is one of my resolutions I am going to start early! Dig in again! I am going to stick with Psalms for right now and see how it goes.

On the other hand, it has been snowing outside all day and it looks beautiful! It really makes me feel so blessed to live in the great state of Alaska! I love it here and even though I will miss it when we move next year, I will be happy to be in a warmer place!! One of my college classes this semester was on the five love languages for couples. I also went to a couples retreat and it was mentioned and then I seen a lady talking about it on TV. I am thinking this is God's way of telling me i need to find out my love language and my husbands! I took the quiz today and I am very surprised at what my love language is. Words of affirmation, i scored a perfect on it lol. I am going to have my husband take it sometime soon so I can figure out his! I really think this will be a good way to learn more about each other and become even more intimate! Anyways I just want to say have a blessed day!!!!

Learning to Listen

I was doing my bible study when a few verses in this chapter was asked to be read. I really enjoyed it and I have made the verses that really caught my attention in bold letters. I have learned that if I want to hear God speak to me I need to block out all the noise and meditate on God and his word. I need to stop talking so much but start listening. I cannot hear God if I am talking....even the smallest whisper is too loud. I need to STOP and BE STILL and WAIT ON GOD. I am seeking and praying more for a closer, more divine and everlasting relationship with God.

Isaiah 50 (NLT)

1 This is what the LORD says:
“Was your mother sent away because I divorced her?
Did I sell you as slaves to my creditors?
No, you were sold because of your sins.
And your mother, too, was taken because of your sins.
2 Why was no one there when I came?
Why didn’t anyone answer when I called?
Is it because I have no power to rescue?
No, that is not the reason!
For I can speak to the sea and make it dry up!
I can turn rivers into deserts covered with dying fish.
3 I dress the skies in darkness,
covering them with clothes of mourning.”
The LORD’s Obedient Servant
4 The Sovereign LORD has given me his words of wisdom,
so that I know how to comfort the weary.
Morning by morning he wakens me
and opens my understanding to his will.
5 The Sovereign LORD has spoken to me,
and I have listened.
I have not rebelled or turned away.
6 I offered my back to those who beat me
and my cheeks to those who pulled out my beard.
I did not hide my face
from mockery and spitting.
7 Because the Sovereign LORD helps me,
I will not be disgraced.
Therefore, I have set my face like a stone,
determined to do his will.
And I know that I will not be put to shame.
8 He who gives me justice is near.
Who will dare to bring charges against me now?
Where are my accusers?
Let them appear!
9 See, the Sovereign LORD is on my side!
Who will declare me guilty?
All my enemies will be destroyed
like old clothes that have been eaten by moths!
10 Who among you fears the LORD
and obeys his servant?
If you are walking in darkness,
without a ray of light,
trust in the LORD
and rely on your God.
11 But watch out, you who live in your own light
and warm yourselves by your own fires.
This is the reward you will receive from me:
You will soon fall down in great torment.

Psalm 46:10(NLT)

10 “Be still, and know that I am God!
I will be honored by every nation.
I will be honored throughout the world.”

The Voice Of God

I started going to a bible study at church called Discerning The Voice Of God. I am very intrigued with the study and the study book that goes along. I really think this is something that will be beneficial to me and my walk with Christ. Here are a few verses and quotes that I have really liked reading so far!

Habakkuk 2:1-4 (NLT)

1 I will climb up to my watchtower
and stand at my guardpost.
There I will wait to see what the LORD says
and how he[a] will answer my complaint

Jeremiah 33:3 (NLT)

3 Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come.

APPROACH THE FATHER WITH EXPECTANCY THAT HE WILL SPEAK!!!!!!

One more thing, I start going back to college the 2nd week of March!! woohoo!!! So excited to finally finish college!! So very exciting and I get to do it all online and its a Christian College!! So happy!! Have a Blessed Day!!!

God Works In Mysterious Ways!

Sometimes I wonder why God brings certain people into our lives. Sometimes he is using that person as an example to us. Last night that happen to my husband and I.  Though my husband did great acting like a witness for Christ I am not so sure that is why these two people stopped by our lives last night. I think it was more of God showing us what our lives could be like if we didn't stay on the straight and narrow path and showing us where we both have come from. Anyways it just leads me to this, in every situation we should try and witness to others. The first lady we seen, we didn't really witness to her, but I think God gave us a second chance with the guy we met, so hopefully in some way we did God's will or God did his will in us!!

Prov 3:5: Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.

Acts 18:10: For I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you, because I have many people in this city.”

1 Pet 3:15: But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect

If you are ever approached by someone or something you are not sure about maybe God is wanting you to step up and be a witness, because these people may be hurting and longing to be free and God is the only one who can make us free and take our burdens as his own! In all ways let us lead our lives as an example. The Lord is our Shepard, let the holy spirit work through us so we can be a Shepard to other people and help lead them home !!!! Here is a song by Amy Grant that really talks about laying your burden down To Christ. He said he would carry it for us, so why take it upon ourselves? Maybe someone in your life needs to read these verses or hear this song? Maybe they haven't laid their burdens down, because they do not yet know the Savior of the World...............

Matthew 11:28-30 (NLT)

28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”

Psalm 55:22 (NLT)

22 Give your burdens to the LORD,
and he will take care of you.
He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.

Carry You lyrics

Lay down your burden, I will carry you
I will carry you, my child, my child
Lay down your burden, I will carry you
I will carry you, my child, my child

Cuz I can walk on water
And calm a restless sea
I've done a thousand things you've never done

And I'm weary watchin'
While you struggle on your own
Call my name, I'll come

Lay down your burden, I will carry you
I will carry you, my child, my child
Lay down your burden, I will carry you
I will carry you, my child, my child

I give vision to the blind
And I can raise the dead
I've seen the darker side of Hell
And I returned
And I see those sleepless nights
And count every tear you cry
Some lessons hurt to learn

Lay down your burden, I will carry you
I will carry you, my child, my child
Lay down your burden, I will carry you
I will carry carry, my child, my child

I will carry you, my child, my child
I will carry you

Tell Someone about Jesus Today!!!

Psalm 66:9(NLT)

Our lives are in his hands,
and he keeps our feet from stumbling.

Almost a year ago the Lord put it on my heart to write my testimony out so I could share it with other people. Finally I have started on it. I have found verse after verse that the Lord has lead me to in the bible that really go along with my testimony. God has done so many things for so many different people and he can do it for you and for me. A few days ago I found a whole chapter that really I define as my testimony. It couldn't of been wrote any clearer than that and in my below blogs there is the whole chapter if you want to check it out... Today I found a few verses that really spoke to me.

Psalm 66:16-20 (NLT)

16 Come and listen, all you who fear God,
and I will tell you what he did for me.
17 For I cried out to him for help,
praising him as I spoke.
18 If I had not confessed the sin in my heart,
the Lord would not have listened.
19 But God did listen!
He paid attention to my prayer.
20 Praise God, who did not ignore my prayer
or withdraw his unfailing love from me.

If you are like me and the Lord is telling you to share your testimony then its time we listen and share. Our testimony could be the very thing that leads others to find the Lord for the first time or again. Letting others know you have been there and came through it really inspires others. God bless you all and lets see today who we can be an example to and share our testimony with!!
