The Voice Of God

I started going to a bible study at church called Discerning The Voice Of God. I am very intrigued with the study and the study book that goes along. I really think this is something that will be beneficial to me and my walk with Christ. Here are a few verses and quotes that I have really liked reading so far!

Habakkuk 2:1-4 (NLT)

1 I will climb up to my watchtower
and stand at my guardpost.
There I will wait to see what the LORD says
and how he[a] will answer my complaint

Jeremiah 33:3 (NLT)

3 Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come.

APPROACH THE FATHER WITH EXPECTANCY THAT HE WILL SPEAK!!!!!!

One more thing, I start going back to college the 2nd week of March!! woohoo!!! So excited to finally finish college!! So very exciting and I get to do it all online and its a Christian College!! So happy!! Have a Blessed Day!!!

God Works In Mysterious Ways!

Sometimes I wonder why God brings certain people into our lives. Sometimes he is using that person as an example to us. Last night that happen to my husband and I.  Though my husband did great acting like a witness for Christ I am not so sure that is why these two people stopped by our lives last night. I think it was more of God showing us what our lives could be like if we didn't stay on the straight and narrow path and showing us where we both have come from. Anyways it just leads me to this, in every situation we should try and witness to others. The first lady we seen, we didn't really witness to her, but I think God gave us a second chance with the guy we met, so hopefully in some way we did God's will or God did his will in us!!

Prov 3:5: Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.

Acts 18:10: For I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you, because I have many people in this city.”

1 Pet 3:15: But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect

If you are ever approached by someone or something you are not sure about maybe God is wanting you to step up and be a witness, because these people may be hurting and longing to be free and God is the only one who can make us free and take our burdens as his own! In all ways let us lead our lives as an example. The Lord is our Shepard, let the holy spirit work through us so we can be a Shepard to other people and help lead them home !!!! Here is a song by Amy Grant that really talks about laying your burden down To Christ. He said he would carry it for us, so why take it upon ourselves? Maybe someone in your life needs to read these verses or hear this song? Maybe they haven't laid their burdens down, because they do not yet know the Savior of the World...............

Matthew 11:28-30 (NLT)

28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”

Psalm 55:22 (NLT)

22 Give your burdens to the LORD,
and he will take care of you.
He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.

Carry You lyrics

Lay down your burden, I will carry you
I will carry you, my child, my child
Lay down your burden, I will carry you
I will carry you, my child, my child

Cuz I can walk on water
And calm a restless sea
I've done a thousand things you've never done

And I'm weary watchin'
While you struggle on your own
Call my name, I'll come

Lay down your burden, I will carry you
I will carry you, my child, my child
Lay down your burden, I will carry you
I will carry you, my child, my child

I give vision to the blind
And I can raise the dead
I've seen the darker side of Hell
And I returned
And I see those sleepless nights
And count every tear you cry
Some lessons hurt to learn

Lay down your burden, I will carry you
I will carry you, my child, my child
Lay down your burden, I will carry you
I will carry carry, my child, my child

I will carry you, my child, my child
I will carry you

Tell Someone about Jesus Today!!!

Psalm 66:9(NLT)

Our lives are in his hands,
and he keeps our feet from stumbling.

Almost a year ago the Lord put it on my heart to write my testimony out so I could share it with other people. Finally I have started on it. I have found verse after verse that the Lord has lead me to in the bible that really go along with my testimony. God has done so many things for so many different people and he can do it for you and for me. A few days ago I found a whole chapter that really I define as my testimony. It couldn't of been wrote any clearer than that and in my below blogs there is the whole chapter if you want to check it out... Today I found a few verses that really spoke to me.

Psalm 66:16-20 (NLT)

16 Come and listen, all you who fear God,
and I will tell you what he did for me.
17 For I cried out to him for help,
praising him as I spoke.
18 If I had not confessed the sin in my heart,
the Lord would not have listened.
19 But God did listen!
He paid attention to my prayer.
20 Praise God, who did not ignore my prayer
or withdraw his unfailing love from me.

If you are like me and the Lord is telling you to share your testimony then its time we listen and share. Our testimony could be the very thing that leads others to find the Lord for the first time or again. Letting others know you have been there and came through it really inspires others. God bless you all and lets see today who we can be an example to and share our testimony with!!

All Because Of Jesus

Psalm 68:19-20 (NLT)

19 Praise the Lord; praise God our savior!
For each day he carries us in his arms.
Interlude

20 Our God is a God who saves!
The Sovereign LORD rescues us from death.

I just wanted to start off today with a verse I read and I really liked it. Isn't it awesome that our God is a God who saves! This verse really spoke to me because God really did save me from death and I am not talking about eternal death in hell (he saved me from that too) I am talking about 4.5 years ago when I tried to end my life. I almost did it too but the God saved me because he had other plans for me. I was lost though and even in my heart I know God is the only reason I survived but I didn't want to admit that until years later...... That was a very dark period of my life and something I don't like to talk about but I know that God wants me to talk about it to try and let others know that we all go through some of the same things but God is our refuge and strength and he will lead us out! He saved my soul and he saved my physical Life!!! NO other person could do such a thing!

Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT)
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

Psalm 46:1 (NLT)
1 God is our refuge and strength,
always ready to help in times of trouble.
God had a plan for me and a future! God is my hope and without him I would have no hope and no future. All because of Jesus I'm alive!! Here are the lyrics to a praise and worship song that really speak what I am trying to say. Its sung by the group Casting Crowns.....
All Because Of Jesus
Giver of every breath I breathe
Author of all eternity
Giver of every perfect thing
To You be the glory
Maker of Heaven and of Earth
No one can comprehend Your worth
King over all the universe
To You be the glory

And I am alive because I'm alive in You

It's all because of Jesus I'm alive
It's all because the blood of Jesus Christ
That covers me and raised this dead man's life
It's all because of Jesus I'm alive
I'm alive, I'm alive
Giver of every breath I breathe
Author of all eternity
Giver of every perfect thing
To You be the glory
Maker of Heaven and of Earth
No one can comprehend Your worth
King over all the universe
To You be the glory

And I am alive because I'm alive in You

It's all because of Jesus I'm alive
It's all because the blood of Jesus Christ
That covers me and raised this dead man's life
It's all because of Jesus

Every sunrise sings Your praise
The universe cries out Your praise
I'm singing freedom all my days
Now that I'm alive

I'm alive, I'm alive, I'm alive

High up in the blue sky
Wings of hope are spreading by
A white dove is dancing, flying free and happily
White dove, White dove
Flying higher and higher
'Less my country's clean and blue skies
Should be cloudy and gray

Beautiful

Beauty, What does beauty look like to you? "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" Have you heard that before? I have and sometimes I wonder what is beauty to God? What makes me beautiful? Here are a few verses I found about what God thinks is beautiful....

1 Peter 3:3-5 (NLT)

3 Don’t be concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes. 4 You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God. 5 This is how the holy women of old made themselves beautiful. They trusted God and accepted the authority of their husbands.

1 Samuel 16:7 (NLT)

7 But the LORD said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The LORD doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”

Proverbs 20:29 (NLT)

29 The glory of the young is their strength;
the gray hair of experience is the splendor of the old.

Proverbs 31:30 (NLT)

30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last;
but a woman who fears the LORD will be greatly praised

Those are some inspiring verses. God thinks our beauty comes from within! Honestly this is something I have struggled with since I was a teenager. I have always wanted to physically be beautiful and I know my husband and my family think I am but sometimes I don't think I am. After having two kids and three pregnancies in two years I for sure don't have the perfect body. Yes I try to eat right, exercise, lose weight, wear make-up, do my hair and dress nice, but no matter what it still doesn't make me beautiful because its what is on the inside that counts! So this brings me to the next point, what is the perfect woman? What does God want our lives to be like as a woman of God? What kind of wife? What kind of mother? This chapter I am going to share with you is close to my heart and the Lord revealed it to me quite some time ago. I have really been striving for this but I know that it takes time and I am not perfect, but I pray that God will make me a Proverbs 31 woman! If I can be this not only will I be beautiful but I will be pleasing to God!!

Proverbs 31:10-31 (NLT)

10 [a]Who can find a virtuous and capable wife?
She is more precious than rubies.
11 Her husband can trust her,
and she will greatly enrich his life.
12 She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.

13 She finds wool and flax
and busily spins it.
14 She is like a merchant’s ship,
bringing her food from afar.
15 She gets up before dawn to prepare breakfast for her household
and plan the day’s work for her servant girls.

16 She goes to inspect a field and buys it;
with her earnings she plants a vineyard.
17 She is energetic and strong,
a hard worker.
18 She makes sure her dealings are profitable;
her lamp burns late into the night.
19 Her hands are busy spinning thread,
her fingers twisting fiber.
20 She extends a helping hand to the poor
and opens her arms to the needy.
21 She has no fear of winter for her household,
for everyone has warm[b] clothes.
22 She makes her own bedspreads.
She dresses in fine linen and purple gowns.
23 Her husband is well known at the city gates,
where he sits with the other civic leaders.
24 She makes belted linen garments
and sashes to sell to the merchants.
25 She is clothed with strength and dignity,
and she laughs without fear of the future.
26 When she speaks, her words are wise,
and she gives instructions with kindness.
27 She carefully watches everything in her household
and suffers nothing from laziness.
28 Her children stand and bless her.
Her husband praises her:
29 “There are many virtuous and capable women in the world,
but you surpass them all!”
30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last;
but a woman who fears the LORD will be greatly praised.
31 Reward her for all she has done.
Let her deeds publicly declare her praise.

Something I Hold True to My Life

Psalm 32
A psalm[a] of David.
1 Oh, what joy for those
whose disobedience is forgiven,
whose sin is put out of sight!
2 Yes, what joy for those
whose record the LORD has cleared of guilt,[b]
whose lives are lived in complete honesty!
3 When I refused to confess my sin,
my body wasted away,
and I groaned all day long.
4 Day and night your hand of discipline was heavy on me.
My strength evaporated like water in the summer heat.
Interlude

5 Finally, I confessed all my sins to you
and stopped trying to hide my guilt.
I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to the LORD.”
And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone.
Interlude

6 Therefore, let all the godly pray to you while there is still time,
that they may not drown in the floodwaters of judgment.
7 For you are my hiding place;
you protect me from trouble.
You surround me with songs of victory.
Interlude

8 The LORD says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life.
I will advise you and watch over you.
9 Do not be like a senseless horse or mule
that needs a bit and bridle to keep it under control.”
10 Many sorrows come to the wicked,
but unfailing love surrounds those who trust the LORD.
11 So rejoice in the LORD and be glad, all you who obey him!
Shout for joy, all you whose hearts are pure!

Give Me Peace Father

I have really had a stressful evening and night. I am writing on here due to this reason. Sometimes I just don't understand the ways of this world. It gets me so down when God does something for you, saves you from something and then BAM something is right there to slam the door in your face and try to take away all your victory. Well that is what almost happened tonight but Jesus intervened just in time and saved me! He always knows just the right time to step in. I am still shaken up about everything and even a little nervous and scared but I know my Father will hold me throughout the night and keep my family and I safe. I pray for peace and I pray for love. Here are a few verses for tonight.

Psalm 71:23 (CEV)

23You have rescued me! I will celebrate and shout,
singing praises to you
with all my heart.

Philippians 4:6-7 (CEV)

6Don't worry about anything, but pray about everything. With thankful hearts offer up your prayers and requests to God. 7Then, because you belong to Christ Jesus, God will bless you with peace that no one can completely understand. And this peace will control the way you think and feel
